Such A Bad Podcaster...

Yes this is a little addition to the post on my personal blog.

Firstly, yes there will be a new edition of KnitCast this month.

Secondly, I'm going on holiday to New York City in July and hope to record some interviews while I'm there! I'll be there for the first week of July and I have some ideas for interviews and I'll be contacting people soon about those. However I do want to leave the majority of my trip for shopping! It'll be my third visit to NYC and my second trip to the Garment District. I'm really looking forward to it! Let's hope I don't go over my baggage weight allowance on the way home!

KnitCast 07 - Pam Allen

Ever wondered how much work goes into editing a knitting magazine? In the latest KnitCast, I meet Pam Allen, editor of Interweave Knits magazine. And apologies for the variation in sound quality of this interview - I hope that you'll enjoy it despite that. Many thanks to Pam for putting up with technical problems like sound delays!

No podcast this week :-(

I was hoping to bring you an interview with Kerrie Allman from MagKnits.com on Monday but we had technical problems and it's just not podcastable.

Kerrie is such a delightful person that when I do post an interview with her I want you to be able to hear just how lovely she is. Posting the first recording wouldn't do her justice. So I'm hoping to redo her interview sometime in the future. I'll keep you posted.

Right Place, Wrong Time

Sorry folks. I posted the wrong date for Mousemat. You can actually hear my interview this Sunday, that's the 20th of March at 4pm GMT. Again, the programme will be online for seven days after broadcast.

You may have also noticed that the Update List has been moved to Yahoo. That's because the email list function of my address book stopped working. So, if you'd like to be added to the KnitCast Update List then please click on the Yahoo Groups button on the lower right hand side.

KnitCast News!

You've heard me interviewing others - now listen to me being interviewed on BBC Radio! You'll be able to hear my interview with Adam Walton, presenter of BBC Radio Wales' Mousemat programme at 6pm GMT tomorrow.

The show isn't available as a podcast but you can listen anytime via Real Player. Don't worry if you can't listen live as the programme is archived on the Radio Wales website for a week.

In the meantime here's a little treat for you! KnitCast is a bi-weekly podcast (every two weeks) but occasionally I will put up shorter podcasts in addition to the main show. After interviewing Wendy Johnson in the second edition I asked if you had any questions for her - I've added an extra podcast with her answers.

Update!

KnitCast is now listed on three major podcasting sites - Podcast News, Podcast Alley and the Women in Podcasting list! PodCast Alley has a Podcast Top Ten. So if you like Knitcast then please consider voting for it and rating the show.

I've been making a couple of small changes to the typelists on the blog. One of the new typelists has a list of upcoming interviewees. As you can see, we have some very interesting names there! If you have any questions for them then please feel free to email me. I can't guarantee that they'll all be put to them. There's also a spam trap in the email link so remember to replace the "AT" with @. I'm also interested in using audio comments on the show! If you have the means of recording your voice on your computer and saving it as an mp3 (as high a bitrate as possible please), then please email your audio comments. Comments shouldn't be more than thirty seconds in duration and may be edited for length.

I'm also going to add a PayPal donate button and open a CafePress shop in order to raise funds toward KnitCast. So, if you donate where will your money go? Well, I won't be spending it on yarn! :)  Anything monies raised will go straight back into the show and will be used towards equipment and webhosting costs.

If anyone fancies advertising on the blog or sponsoring KnitCast then drop me an email. I'll certainly consider it!

First Edition Almost Ready!

Welcome to the Knitcast Blog! Knitcast is a new podcast about knitting. I don't know how frequently I'll be posting but I hope to make it available at least bi-weekly if not weekly.

The first one should be ready to download from tomorrow!
